The Red Affair…..

The Red Pump Project

Charlotte, join us for a stylish celebration of World AIDS Day.

The 5th Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair

You are cordially invited to what is known as the Queen City’s most stylish cocktail party of the season celebrating five years of fashionable philanthropy in commemoration of World AIDS Day. The 5th Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair will be held on Saturday, December 7th from 7-10 p.m. at the Hart Witzen Gallery (136 E. 36th Street, Charlotte) in the NoDa historic arts district.

This is one of our signature events and helps us further our mission to raise awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls, while ensuring that women are empowered with accurate knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the issues surrounding it.

The evening will have Charlotte’s most elite guests in attendance. Be ready for a true red carpet experience, special performances, a silent auction benefitting Red Pump programs and services, and an electrifying fashion show, featuring the collections of Bill Evans, Kevin Vain, T’Shanell Designs, Flow by Tara Davis and Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th with accessories provided by Accessory Gardin.

One of the special features of the evening is an awards ceremony to honor a female community leader who has dedicated her time and energy to fighting the battle against AIDS. Each year, The Red Pump Award is given to a woman who personifies what The Red Pump Project is all about— delivering education and promoting awareness in a bold way.

If you’re in Charlotte, we would love to see you come out and be a part of the 5th Annual Red Pump Red /Tie Affair.  General Admission tickets are $35.00 per person. Tickets are available online at http://2013redpumpredtieaffair.eventbrite.com.

On the 2nd Monday of each month, join Red Pump’s founders Karyn Watkins and Luvvie Ajayi as they host the CAN-TV AIDS hotline, a monthly live, talk show that serves to educate the viewing public about HIV/AIDS.

Tune in, watch the show AND call in on the 2nd Monday of the month from 5:30-6pm CST via livestream online at http://cantv.org/live. Add it to your calendars!

The PR Girl Toolbox….

[Infographic] 4 Habits of Responsible Credit Card Users

Credit cards get a bad wrap. Sure there are terrible products out there with high interest rates and ridiculous annual fees, but for the most part credit cards are a reflection of their owner. Yep, I said it.

When used properly credit cards can be a valuable tool. They are key to building positive credit history, can be clutch when faced with an emergency situation (I’m talking real emergency, not J. Crew is having a sample sale ), and several products offer superb warranties and rewards programs that end up saving the cardholder money in the long run.

I comprised an infographic over the weekend about the 4 habits of highly responsible credit card users. Our specialty over here at My Fab Fico is credit and helping people build or rebuild their credit score. That includes helping people more confident and comfortable with correctly using credit cards and using them as tools.

I hope you enjoy. Feel free to share and I’d love any feedback you may have.
