President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela passed on December 5, 2013 in Johannesburg at the age of 95.
His long life, a testament to fearlessness and perseverance, will be recounted for generations. President Mandela was a tireless activist who began in his early youth to mobilize his people, long since degraded by colonial racism in South Africa. He became one of the most visible leaders of the African National Congress (ANC) when in 1978, his second wife, Winnie, suggested that the ANC change its slogan from “Death to Apartheid” to “Free Mandela”. Mandela’s work as an outspoken agitator made him a controversial enemy of the state, and landed him, for nearly three decades, in jail, including one of the world’s most notoriously brutal prisons, Robben Island. Mandela’s release in the early 90’s was a benchmark for progress, and captured global attention as it re-energized those who shared his vision for a new…

Nelson Mandela’s legacy is one of hope in the innate goodness of humanity and inspiration for everyone to believe in the power of forgiveness. While we all mourn the loss of “our greatest son, as South African president, Jacob Zuma stated when he announced the tragic news, we smile knowing that Mandela’s life was not in vain. He lived to inspire the world and will continue to inspire, even in death.
Many celebrities and dignitaries have been reactingto Mandela’s death, and we got our hands on some pretty moving videos of celebs and dignitaries like Idris Elba, Reverend Al Sharpton, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend and anti-Apartheid activist, Jeanette Carlson, among many others, sharing their stories on how Mandela’s life inspired them. President Obama has been opening up a lot lately about his plans in 2017, when his second term and lease at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave comes to an end.
In a sit-down interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters, the commander in chief said his youngest daughter Sasha will have a big say on where the family lives after leaving the White House. And during a recent meeting with entertainment moguls at DreamWorks Animation, Obama shared his dream retirement job.
“At least I know what I want to do when I retire … host ESPN Sports Center’s Top 10 list,” the President said. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he was surrounded by “several studio executives” when he revealed his ideal post-term position — including Fox’s Jim Gianopulos, Sony’s Amy Pascal and CBS’ Leslie Moonves and Disney CEO Robert Iger, whose empire includes an 80 percent share of the athletic cable channel.

Yesterday, Nelson Mandela’s youngest daughters Zindzi and Zenani attended the London Royal Film premiere of Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom, based on their father’s life.
The sisters hit the red carpet together, and were able to catch part of the film, before being told about their father had passing. Although they left the screening, they asked that the film continue, and the rest of the attendees were told of after the movie had ended. According to UK’s Daily Mail:
It was only after the credits had rolled that the film’s producer Anant Singh got on the stage to break the news to the rest of the audience. There were screams and gasps of shock while some burst into tears. A two minutes’ silence was held.
Sweaty, impatient crowds. Dizzying lights and music. Undeserving children screaming demands at parents and fake Santas. Icy, overflowing parking lots.

Two, shopping for this stuff will spare you from the gauntlet that is the mall between now and Christmas Eve. All of these gifts are available at the click of the mouse. So grab a mug of something hot and boozy, pull up a seat and get your holiday shopping for dudes done the right way.
