The Man” is a song by the American singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc. Interscope Records released the song in 2014, as the second single from his third studio album, Lift Your Spirit. The song is also included on his EP Wake Me Up. The song has peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song has also charted in Australia, France, New Zealand and Canada, peaking at number 11, 74, 5 and 27, respectively. It reached number 1 on the UK iTunes Chart. The song was written by Egbert Dawkins III, Elton John, Bernie Taupin, Sam Barsh, Daniel Seeff, Khalil Abdul Rahman and produced by DJ Khalil. Elton John and Bernie Taupin are listed in the credits due to “The Man” sampling the refrain “And you can tell everybody” from John’s 1970 hit “Your Song“, which John and Taupin co-wrote. A remix was released featuring American rapper Kid Ink. The song has sold over a million copies in the U.S. as of February 2014.[1]
