INDIANA BLACK EXPO JOINS THE RANKS AS THE PLATINUM

SPONSOR OF THE NO MORE EXCUSES BLACK MEN STAND UP!

2015 CONFERENCE

Indiana Black Expo and Conference Organizer Robert Jackson announced today that IBE will serve as the Platinum Sponsor of the No More Excuses Black Men Stand Up! 2015 ConferenceThe conference will take place on Saturday, May 16th from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Lawrence Central High School.  “Indiana Black Expo is committed to coming alongside our young men of color to help address and eliminate personal and external barriers to their success,” said IBE Tanya Bell, president & CEO.  “This conference is directly in line with the Your Life Matters® initiative and is a critical venue needed to empower and invest in our young men and help them deal with issues that may be hindering success.   IBE has worked with Robert Jackson for many years and we applaud his passion and expertise.  This is a great opportunity for IBE to speak to the very young men that are the subject of Your Life Matters® Plan of Action,” added Bell.

“It has been my experience in working with young men across this country that there is one common thread that often gets omitted in rearing them to be well-balance, and that is the understanding that pain leads to anger, anger leads to violence and violence leads to incarceration, abuse and death. A lot of men, young and old, carry deep rooted pain,” explained Robert Jackson, Conference Organizer.  “We are in a state of emergency and the major culprit is the unresolved pain. This is why we welcome the sponsorship and partnership of IBE and President & CEO Tanya Bell. We agree that all lives matter and intend to help begin the healing process the moment the doors open on Saturday, May 16th,” added Jackson.  Conference leaders are expecting 350 to 400 young and adult men.  Young men will discuss topics such as accountability, the value and importance of education, important steps to help decrease the violence in our communities, and the power of healing.  Conference speakers include:

 ·         Robert Jackson, National Speaker, Author and Conference Organizer

·         Congressman Andre’ Carson, Indiana’s 7th Congressional District

·         Tanya Bell, President & CEO, Indiana Black Expo, Inc.
