“My Life, My Vibe” March 2016

With February already coming to an end, you are probably wondering when you are actually going to start executing your New Year’s resolutions. Let’s be honest, when we look at things like resolutions from a forced and fad-like perspective, it’s unlikely that they will help us in the long run. One of the best ways to better ourselves is to focus on the inside first.

Anyone can easily jump-start his or her true potential in life with an inspiring book. Not by finally fitting in those high school jeans. Not by reaching 5,000 followers on Instagram. But with a real life, hold-in-your-hands, throw-in-your-bag book.

All the little details about real books are fascinating. From the font that is chosen, to the illustrations or photos (if any), the smell of the pages, the texture of the cover and of course, the cover art. They’re even great for decorating with at home!

If you are looking to channel your inner girl boss this year, here are a few reads by strong females with real stories to get you going!

This is a MUST READ for anyone looking to go into public relations… or honestly, any job in general. It is an amazing, tell-it-like-it-is guide to life, and I am now 97% sure that Kelly Cutrone is also my fairy godmother.pic 2

The Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun and Be Your Own Person By: Shonda Rhimes

Shonda Rhimes pretty much rules television. She is an executive producer, writer, and creator of mega TV hits like Grey’s Anatomy & Scandal! Surprisingly introverted, Shonda would often suffer from panic attacks and thought it better to stay at home than step into the [much deserved] spotlight. In realizing that she never said “yes” to anything, she decided decides to start saying “yes” to all of the things that scared her! This hilarious memoir explores the many years before her Year of Yes, and shows the reader that you, too, can become your own version of awesome!
