My Life, My Vibe September 2016
Finishing The Summer Strong…..
The carefree days and warm nights of summer come to close, so does the freedom of time spent outdoors playing with your little ones and friends. Changes in the season (cooling temps, falling leaves and dwindling sunlight and structured routines) create a more somber attitude which can spark some melancholy and depression. Here I’ve decided to share how to get over the oh so dreadful summer blues and ease transition into the season of Fall and beyond 🙂
Plan a “film fest” weekend. Gather the family (maybe even a few friends), pick up a couple of DVD rentals, pop a huge batch of popcorn and launch your very own film fest weekend.
Capture summer memories. Relive the family vacation, reminisce over memories from summers gone by, or just have a blast creating and capturing new memories on film.
Take a “staycation.” If you’ve decided to forgo a full-fledged vacation or road trip this summer, that doesn’t mean you have to stay indoors – you might be surprised to discover lots of fun activities and things to see within just an hour or two’s drive from your home.
Throw a pool party. Before school starts back up and the weather begins to cool down, why not throw one last pool party for friends and neighbors?
Keep the fun times going. Just because school will soon be back in session, that doesn’t mean the fun has to end.
Exercise! Staying active always gets those endorphins going and puts you in a positive mindset. Find something you love to do, try out a new class, take a long walk or exercise outside. The weather is so beautiful in the fall, so make outdoor workouts a must. Depending on where you live, the summer heat can be brutal, so use this new season as an opportunity to start taking your sweat sessions outdoors!
The cutest fall clothes are already out, so start stocking up! New clothing always puts a pep in our step. Grab some cute riding boots and booties, a new cozy sweater, distressed black or gray jeans or a fun trendy jacket to get your fall style on point!
Start a fall bucket list. Write down some fun fall activities you love doing each season or maybe some activities you haven’t done yet, but want to do. Some ideas to help you get your list started are apple picking, visiting a pumpkin patch, attending a wine-tasting, having cider and donuts at an apple orchard, attending football games or planning a fall dinner party. Planning activities will help get you excited for all the fun that’s to come this fall!
