Art & Soul 2017 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden
In 2017, the Arts Council of Indianapolis is pleased to partner with Asante Children’s Theatre, Indy Jazz Fest, Kenyettá Dance Company, and the Madame Walker Theatre Center to present the 21st Annual Art & Soul: A Celebration of African American Art & Artists in Indiana at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. #ArtSoul

2017 Performance Schedule
The Indianapolis Artsgarden is located above the intersection of Washington and Illinois Streets.
Events are free and open to the public. Events start at 12:15 pm.

Art & Soul celebrates empowerment through the arts. Lift your voice and take part in the kickoff celebration featuring:

  • A lively procession of African drumming by Griot Drum Ensemble, the 2017 Featured Artists, and Indianapolis arts leaders
  • Audience members singing the Black National Anthem
  • A jazz tribute to President Obama
  • An inspirational dance performance by Krash Krew Dance
  • Engaging activities by local arts and cultural organizations
  • Art exhibition by Featured Artist Tiffany Marie Parker

You will also be able to meet the 2017 Art & Soul Featured Artists: Carrington Clinton (Music), Devon Ginn (Literary/Theatre), Taylar Green (Dance), and Tiffany Marie Parker (Visual).
